Nowadays, many questions are arising in the minds of people that why the quality of sperm is decreasing in men? Is this really a big problem? Are the foods we eat responsible for low sperm count? Today we will give you the answers to all these things. Let’s find out which things reduce the sperm count in men, due to which most of the men face difficulties to become a father.

Is low sperm count really a problem?

Low sperm count is really a big problem. According to a study, the sperm count of men has decreased by 59 percent in the last 38 years. Low sperm count also affects male fertility, due to which most couples face many difficulties in conceiving.

Why is the sperm count decreasing? Is it because of our diet?

Finding the cause of low sperm count in men is very difficult. Some people believe that working with a laptop on the lap lowers the sperm count. However, some experts also believe that when you keep your phone in your pocket, a heat is emitted from it, which has a bad effect on sperm. Obesity can also be a reason for this.

Health experts say that there can be many reasons behind low sperm count. What we eat in food is very important and because of that we face many health problems. According to some studies, consumption of certain foods can adversely affect sperm. But there are some things that can also increase sperm count. Let’s know about all that –

These things adversely affect sperm health and fertility

Processed meat

Many studies have shown that consuming processed meat increases the risk of many diseases. Processed meats include hot dogs, salami, beef, bacon, etc. Although these things look good to eat but can prove to be very dangerous for health. Many studies have shown that eating processed red meat can reduce sperm count as well as sperm motility.

Excess fat

Health experts believe that trans fat increases the risk of heart disease. A Spanish study conducted in 2011 revealed that high levels of trans fat in the body can lead to decreased sperm count.

Soy production
Soy products contain phytoestrogens – estrogen-like compounds that come from plants. A study of 99 men at a fertility clinic in Boston found that consuming high amounts of soy products decreased sperm count.

High fat dairy products
Although milk proves to be very beneficial for your body, you cannot include sperm in it. A study has revealed that consuming high-fat dairy products can reduce sperm motility and uneven sperm shape in men.

These 3 things increase fertility and improve sperm health in men.

Fish is very high in omega-3 fatty acids. In that case, you can consume fish instead of red or processed meat.

Fruits and vegetables
A study of 250 people at a fertility clinic found that those who consumed the most fruits and vegetables, especially green vegetables and beans, had the best sperm quality. Also, an increase in sperm motility was observed in these people compared to those who did not consume such items.

That’s no surprise, since everything that comes from plants contains antioxidants like co-enzyme Q10, vitamin C, and lycopene. These micronutrients are considered very beneficial for increasing sperm count.

A 2012 study involved 117 men between the ages of 21 and 35. All the men were given about 18 walnuts a day for 12 weeks. The researchers analyzed the sperm parameters of these men before and after the study. Research has shown that eating walnuts improves sperm count in men. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in walnuts. Omega 3 fatty acids improve blood circulation to the testicles, which increases both sperm volume and production.

Do these things to improve sperm health

Eat organic vegetables and wash them thoroughly before eating. Eat fish instead of processed meat. Reduce consumption of fried and junk food. Do not smoke cigarettes. If you are overweight, lose it.
