Know how to apply conditioner in 5 easy steps

We all know that just like bathing, shampooing your hair is necessary to get rid of the dirt, grim and oil that accumulates on your scalp. But not everyone believes in the use of conditioner after that. Let’s take a look at why it is important to use conditioner after shampooing your hair and what is the right way to apply it.

Hair conditioner is a type of cosmetic product that helps give your hair a smooth and soft texture, reduces the frizz, makes it more manageable for styling and just enhances the appearance of your hair.

Our scalp produces a natural conditioner known as sebum, to fight hair problems such as dryness, frizz and breakage. But shampoo has some harsh chemicals which end up stripping our hair of its natural oils and hence the need to apply conditioner after shampooing.

Some natural methods like oiling your hair or applying hair masks made of banana, honey, yogurt, etc. also help you condition your hair. So, either way you do it, conditioning your hair is an important step and it is important to get it right. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply conditioner the right way.

How to apply conditioner?

Step 1

After you have washed your hair well with shampoo, you need to squeeze out the excess water from your hair. You can also use a towel for that.

Step 2

Once you have squeezed out the excess water, take a pea-sized amount of conditioner and apply it to the lengths of your hair.

Step 3

Remember not to apply conditioner on your scalp and just on the lengths of your hair. If you have short hair, you can pull your hair away from the scalp and then apply.

Step 4

Once you have applied the conditioner you need to leave it for 2-3 minutes. During this time you can also use a wide-toothed comb to evenly spread the conditioner in your hair.

Step 5

After this just rinse off the conditioner from your hair and you are done!

So, don’t skip out on conditioner after shampoo as this will allow you to have smooth and frizz free hair!
